My Approach to Maternity Photography

Natural, relaxed, intimate, and completely you.

Maternity photos don’t have to feel overly posed or like you need to know exactly what to do.

My sessions are relaxed and easygoing. I’ll guide you with posing, light, outfits, and all the little details, while still giving you room to move, laugh, connect, and just be yourself.

I want you to look back at these photos and recognize you, not a version of you that was created just for the camera.

THE EXPERIENCE

You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose

“I’m awkward in front of the camera.”

“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”

“My husband hates pictures.”

I hear it all the time.

You don’t need to know how to pose,  that’s my job. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’ll also give you room to move, breathe, laugh, and settle into the moment.

I want your photos to feel like you, not like you spent an hour posing for the camera.

AT HOME

Your Home Is More Than Enough

And no, it doesn’t have to look like Pinterest.

A bedroom, your couch, a neutral wall, or one beautiful window can be more than enough. At-home sessions are private, relaxed, and give us room to slow down, change outfits, and take breaks when you need them.

Before your session, I’ll help you find the prettiest light in your home and plan around it.

Sometimes the simplest spaces photograph the best.

WHAT TO WEAR

Simple Photographs Beautifully

You don’t need a closet full of maternity gowns.

Jeans below the belly. A white button-down. A fitted tank. A bralette. Bare feet. Soft sheets. A simple dress.

Wear something that feels like you.

We can keep it casual, make it a little more intimate, dress it up , or do a little of everything. I’ll help you plan your looks beforehand so everything feels cohesive without feeling overdone.

YOUR SESSION, YOUR STORY

More Than Just Maternity Photos

Your maternity gallery doesn’t have to have one single vibe.

We can create the soft, timeless photographs you’ll want to print and share, along with a few more intimate images just for you. Maybe that means an open button-down, soft sheets, a little more skin, silhouettes, or black & white. You decide what feels comfortable ... I’ll guide you through the rest.

And your session doesn’t have to be just about you and your belly.

Bring your partner. Bring the kiddos. Let them cuddle you, climb into bed, hug your belly, make you laugh, or just be themselves. Whether this is baby number one or baby number four, I want to photograph what your family feels like right before it changes again.

I’ll always come in with ideas, but I don’t want your session to feel like a checklist. Maybe we start inside because the light is beautiful. Maybe your toddler jumps in unexpectedly. Maybe your husband makes you laugh. Maybe we end up outside or even in the pool.

Sometimes the moments we didn’t plan are the ones that mean the most.

For many moms, the early-to-mid 30-week range is a beautiful time for maternity photos, but there isn’t one perfect week for everyone. We’ll plan around your pregnancy, your comfort, and what feels right for you.

Because pregnancy has a funny way of feeling so long while you’re in it, and then suddenly, that baby is here.

I don’t photograph maternity because you need a perfect picture of your belly.

I photograph it because one day, I want these images to bring you back to this version of you.

Your body.

Your family.

The anticipation.

The connection.

The little moments before everything changes again.

Not perfection. Just you.
